Sensual Encounters with Ordinary Things

 

This work explores how we relate to ordinary things.  It imagines the vibrancy of matter and embraces the unknown through whimsical, anthropological stories of sensual encounter referencing the surreal, the analogue and the absurd.

 

It consists of a film (on loop) embedded within ceramic work.  The viewer is invited to put on headphones and view a film through the vessel mouth, intimately engaging in a physical as well as hyperreal experience with the work. (See the film on Vimeo by clicking on the video button on this page)
