Falling into Otherness

 

This piece was made alongside Capture-Rapture and in response to Lucy Lippard's text, Lure of the Local.  Lippard discusses ideas of (M)Other Nature.  

 

I decided to make a sculpture of "others" including ingredients such as colour, formlessness, feminininity, domesticity and process-led making.  The resulting structure demonstrated entropic qualities. Ulitmately the material structure itself deliciously mimics the idea of falling into otherness.
